Ford Motor Company produced some great new designs in 1955 and 1956 under the leadership of Ford's Styling Chief Frank Hershey. The 2 seat Thunderbird was new and the dramatic Crown Victoria was introduced in a palette of modern colors.

In 1957 Ford eclipsed Chevrolet in sales with a record 1.67 million cars produced. A new 312 cu. in. 245 horsepower "Y" block V-8 gave you all the power you needed. The innovative Skyliner retractable hardtop was a first for an American production car. The coupe-pickup Ranchero was introduced and would last another 22 years as the model in the Ford lineup. You could order your 1957 Ford in one of 12 paint colors and 19 two-tone combinations along with matching interior colors.
